Dream #1 Rumors of War

God has graciously given me the Gift of Dreams. Dreaming, for me, is a time when God imparts an unshakable Word into my spirit. Most times it's a heeding to pray or minister to someone, other times He gives me insight on things to come, promises to hold onto, forewarnings of temptations the enemy would send my way, revealing of enemies, and so on. Most of the dreams that God gives me are symbolic, full of metaphors. I don't currently have the gift of interpreting dreams, so I usually understand a dream after it has come to pass in the natural, unless the metaphors given are very evident. However, this past November, God gave me a disturbing dream of War. I keep note of the dreams God gives me and often share them with close friends and family. I've been led to start sharing my dreams on my blog.

In the dream ...

I was laying on the couch in my great room, half asleep, half awake. My eyes were close, however, I could hear the tv. The tv was on the news channel and the newscaster was going on and on about the outbreak of a Civil War that was currently in our country. Suddenly, gun fire began to rang outside of my window. I jumped up in a panic and immediately ran throughout my house and turned off all the lights, closed the blinds to my windows, and double checked the locks. Might I add, that as I was closing the blinds the outside was very dark and eerie. It didn't seem to be any life on the outside. I went into my hallway and kneeled, still panicking. Shadows of men holding guns and wearing war gear appeared on the outside of my window. They didn't try to force their way in, instead they were laughing and talking among themselves, as if they were standing guard. Still in my kneeling posture I began praying. I recall vividly pleading with God to stretch my water and food I had in my home. It was as if a stress of food, water, and shelter became a big ordeal in our Country. In the dream I could sense that it was not safe to go out and it wouldn't be for a while.

End of Dream

"And you will hear of wars and threats of wars, but don't panic. Yes these things must take place, but the end won't follow immediately. Nation will go to war and against nation, and kingdom against kingdom. There will be famines and earthquakes in many parts of the world . But all this is only the first of the birth pains, with more to come." (Matthew 24: 6-8)
