"I'm Coming, I'm Coming"

Updated: Oct 23, 2020

I can hear Evelyn wailing from her crib as I try to enjoy the moment of my hot shower. "Whyyyyyyyyyy must she do that?! Scream at the top of her lungs as if I'm not coming to get her. It's the same routine every morning. She know Mommy gets up, have her one on one time with Jesus and then shower. She know I'm coming to get her. She know that when I'm done getting ready, I'll be in to get her out of her crib, change her diaper, dress and feed her, tend to her every need. So there is no reason to holler your face off child." I thought to myself with an attitude. "Crying WILL NOT make me move any faster."

"You do it." The Spirit of The Lord interrupts my thoughts to say. "Do what?" I asked. "Cry as if I'm not coming to deliver you."

"LOL omg that's a good one." I laughed and thought to myself. I'm very guilty of making a big fuss in the mist of trials (especially during the beginning of my current one) as if you're not with me, as if you're not perfecting your love in me. I know I'm not by myself with this one either sisters. Yea, you all know you can be cry babies as well. When tests and trials come your way, you throw a pity party. Have several tantrums. To finally giving in after you realize you can't abort the process, accept the challenge/test, stand, conquer, come out victorious, and wear your war wounds with pride. Can we all agree to that much? Lol!

Let's take a look at Paul and Silas and how they used their Weapon of Worship to press through a difficult time. Even during persecution they were relentless with pressing in and praising God.

When Paul and Silas were beaten and and thrown into jail for casting a demon out of a possessed girl, they didn't complain. (Acts 16:18) They didn't question God. They knew their God. Can you just take a minute to imagine Paul and Silas thrown into a dark, gloomy, smelly jail - not for being convicted of murder, but for doing the work of the Gospel. (Acts 16:22-24) With heavy chains bounding their ankles. Not knowing when they would see daylight again, not knowing what tomorrow would hold. Yet instead of cursing God, complaining, and mumbling they went into worship. They began to bless the name of our Mighty God. They didn't give any room to the enemy. The bible states that a earthquake shock the foundation of the jail and doors of the jail cells swung open. The very chains that held them captive were loosed. They were free. And guess what? Paul and Silas wasn't the only ones that were set free. The bible states that the other jailers chains were loosed and cell doors were opened as well. All from Paul and Silas bombarding heaven with their Worship. All from them not giving in and leaving their fate in the hands of men. All from them refusing to keep their praise silence. It's the Paul and Silas faith for me. Paul and Silas knew their God. They knew him to be a deliver. They knew He was coming.

Sis can I encourage you in this very moment? Whatever season you're in, whatever Goliath you're facing, whatever pathway God is leading you on, I dare you to be like Paul and Silas and Worship through. Worship is a very powerful spiritual weapon. The enemy can't stand it. And don't dare waive in your faith. Know the God Almighty that you serve. Know that God hasn't forgotten about you! I know, I know you may feel alone. Some trials you face in this lifetime will make you think that you're the only one on planet Earth and nothing more than a faint memory, but our God will never leave or forsake you. (Hebrews 13:5) He promised to be with you until the very end of the world. (Matthew 28:20) He's Coming!! A saying that I kept dear to my heart when I was right in the peak of my trial was, "This Too Shall Pass." When I would get weary in my well doing I would recite scriptures but that particular saying I cited often. 'Cause what you're facing now is not for eternity, it will pass. Like Peter said in (1 Peter 5:10) "And after you have suffered a little while, the God of all grace, who has called you to his eternal glory in Christ, will himself restore, confirm, strengthen, and establish you."

Fast forward to weeks later. After I stood firm on not rushing to Evelyn cries. She no longer cry as soon as she wakes. Instead, she sings, talk, jump around. Her confidence in me has grown tremendously. She know that I'm just feet away. Not ignoring her but preparing for our day. At any given second, bursting through the door of her room to deliver her.

Jesus Is That Good,
