Will 2023 be the year that you answer the call? Hey friend, guess what's here? Revival! Yes, the drawing of hearts and the loosing of the grave clothes have arrived. Glorrrrrrryyy!! *insert high praise hands emoji.* And I can't help but wonder will you be a part of this great move of God that's happening? Prayerfully so.
What's revival? An awakening. An awakening back to your first love, Jesus. A reviving of dead things. Perhaps, maybe your prayer life has lost its fire or your attendance in the church has changed drastically. Maybe you've strayed from your prayer closet and worshipping altogether. It's possible that one can be on fire, hungry for the things of God, and then one day (well not really in one day. I believe backsliding is a collection of days, even months) is drawn completely away, not desiring the things of God as you once did. However, I heard the Lord say, "I'm drawing all hearts back to me." Voluntarily or involuntarily, friend, it's happening - the drawing that is. And with the drawing comes change.
Abraham, the Father of Faith, God took him from a place of comfort and familiarity to an unknown place, "Get out of your country, from your family and from your father's house, to a land that I will show you." (Genesis 12:1) There, Abraham was experiencing change and answering the call by hearkening and obeying the voice of The Lord. We know the story of Abraham and how God separated him from his family to start a great work in his life. Abraham left his father's house and took his wife and nephew and embarked on a different path, a path that God had called him to. From there, Abraham went to trusting God, believing Him wholeheartedly for a Son, to going as far as being willing to sacrifice his son back to The Lord. Abraham was used by God in such a mighty way, and in return God made him a father of many nations. But first ... Abraham experienced change and separation.
A similar encounter happened to Moses, the one that talked to The Lord face to face as a friend (Exodus 33:11). After taking flight from Egypt in fear for his life after he murdered an Egyptian, Moses took shelter in a land called Midian. It was there, in Midian, where Moses created a new life for himself, well so he thought. He got married and had two sons. The life he once had in Egypt was soon a memory. Then one day, while out tending to his father in law flock, something caught his attention, "I will now turn aside and see this great sight, why the bush does not burn." (Exodus 3:3) A burning yet not consumed bush caught the attention of Moses and it was there that he encountered The God Almighty, "I am the God of your father - the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob." (Exodus 3:6) It was time for Moses to answer to the call that was placed upon his life. From there a change came. With his Father in law blessing, he set off to Egypt with his wife, Zipporah, and two sons, Greshon and Eliezer. Change changed the course of history for Moses and the Israelites, as he led them out of Egypt "to a land flowing with milk and honey." (Exodus 3:17)
Change may come during a time of grief. Had not Ruth followed her mother-in-law Naomi to her homeland, to provide for her, she would not have never entered into the union with Boaz. During a time of grief and mourning did change come to Ruth who became the lineage of Jesus.
What does your change look like at this very moment? Maybe you've had to relocate to another city or state. Maybe you've been separated from family, children, or even your spouse. Repositioned on your job? Suddenly afflicted with an illness? Credit and finances took a turn? Oh, how I know all too well about the heartache and despair that "change" can bring with it. It's as if you're suddenly experiencing a life crisis. However, welcome that change with open arms friend. Not only will the change open the door for your purpose to come forth, but be prepared to be blessed beyond your wildest imagination. "Beloved think it not strange as if this fiery thing h
If one would ask me when did I answer the call on my life, I would say 2020 during a time of change, heartache, and uncertainty. However I took every care, every heartache, every disappointment and pressed my way to my prayer closet (a corner in my home I made into a meeting place for The Father and I) and cast them all upon Him, daily. Boy did The Lord and I have some good times in that corner all 2020 long, as we still do. It was there in the midst of change that I fell so terribly in love with Jesus. One of the worst seasons of my life turned into one of the most beautiful. And the same shall be for you friend, during your time of change.
Monday, March 20th 2023 at 11:18PM As I was worshipping The Spirit of The Lord began to impress on my heart that there are many still that don't believe they are being called. For some reason, there's a lack of belief and confidence that The Lord wants to use you. "Maybe for others, but not for me." But if I may encourage you, yes, He's INDEED calling you, friend and INDEED intends to use you. The one that feels isolated and suffocated, the one that feels as if they are the black sheep of their family. The youngest sibling, the oldest. The timid one, the one that struggles with confidence and anxiety. The one that's friendless, motherless. The fornicator, adultress, and drunkard, yes God is calling even you - out of sin and unto Him. For He's no respecter of persons. *wink*.
