Think It Not Strange

Beloved, think it not strange concerning the fiery trial which is to try you, as though some strange thing happened unto you: But rejoice, inasmuch as ye are partakers of Christ's sufferings: that, when his glory shall be revealed, ye may be glad also with exceeding joy. (1 Peter 4:12)

You call it "anxiety"and "restlessness" but I call it "conviction". Think it not strange that you're uncomfortable and uneasy. Your heart is fainting from within, for I've been calling you back into a relationship with me. I desire to bless your soul. Behold, I want to do a new thing in your life. Repent and come back. "Turn, O backsliding children, saith the LORD; for I am married unto you: and I will take you one of a city, and two of a family, and I will bring you to Zion." (Jeremiah 3:14)

Think it not strange that your family and friends have become busy with their own lives and have turned their backs on you. I desire your full attention, I've isolated you into a place where you can seek me and find me. You will call onto me and I will answer you. I will draw near to you as you draw near to me. "You will seek me and find me when you seek me with all your heart." (Jeremiah 29:13)

Think it not strange, that your god of mammon, your job have been stripped away. In this season, I want to strengthen your faith. I want your dependency to be only on me. I am your daily bread, I am your Jehovah Jireh - your provider. Make room for me. Remove the idols from your life. "For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also." (Matthew 6:21)

Think it not strange that you're in a dry place. You're in need of a breakthrough, a shift. I am that shift. Go deeper in me. Praise me the more. Eat of my Word the more. Come before me singing hymns with grace in your heart. Beautify me with your worship. As you love on me, I will water your soul. "You make known to me the path of life; you will fill me with joy in your presence, with eternal pleasures at your right hand." (Psalm 16:11)

You think you need more time, more money, more rest, more friends, more stuff, a new job, a new image, a new home, a change of scenery. All you need is me. Everything that you lack, you will find in me. Get to me, just how you are. Oppressed, crushed, backslidden, you just get here. "Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn from me. For I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy and my burden is light." (Matthew 11:28-30)
